We ventured up to Maine to escape the 90 degree heat in our area. It was pretty much in the 70's on the shoreline here, with a nice breeze, but quite hazy. This beach was okay, but not on the same level as some of the other beaches we visited. The waves are mild, and the sand is sort of a dull color, and some areas of the beach were overloaded with seaweed. The beach is about two miles long, and we walked from end to end and back. There is free street parking in the off-season, but a permit is required during the summer months that you can purchase at a kiosk (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend I believe). Despite some reviews and the All-Trails app saying there was only four spots, there is plenty of parking available along Kings Highway. (Might only be four spots at the far southwest end, where the All-Trails route has you start). There were quite a few sunbathers enjoying the beach near the northeast end, by the parking area, but the southwest end of the beach was practically deserted. Leashed dogs are allowed here from the day after Labor Day to June 14th (and then from June 14th to Labor Day in the early mornings, or after 5PM). There are also some times during the winter months where they are allowed to be off-leash. It's not a bad place at all to bring your dogs if you are in the area for a vacation, or just passing through.

This is the tourist area just east of the Keenbunk River Bridge that separates the Dock Square area of Kenneybunkport from the Lower Village area of Kennebunk. There are a number of small shops, inns, and restaurants. The area is not large, we walked around here for about a mile and a half, combined with a small section of Kennebunk. There were plenty of places to stop and take photos!
