Rensselaer

Riverfront Park

Date visited: 7/25/2024

This is a park situated along the river. A good portion of the park is underneath a series of overpasses leading to the Dunn Memorial Bridge, connecting Rensselaer with Albany on the other side of the river. The cement bridge supports feature different paintings, but they look like they've been there for a while and have dulled over time. There was some sort of event going on when we arrived, with a few vendor tents and a food truck. I was going to check out the food truck, but by the time we finished our short walk around the park, the event was wrapping up and the vendors had left. There's a dock that extends into the Hudson, and offers nice views of the river and the Albany skyline.

Rensselaer Waterfront Esplanade

Date visited: 7/25/2024

This is a short walkway along the river, with views of the Hudson River, and the city of Albany on the other side of the river. There was a concert going on directly across the river at Corning Riverfront Park, and the music could be heard on this side of the river as well. This is a nice spot, but it's short. The entire walking trail is less than half a mile.
