This is a pretty nice trail. The trail starts on a right of way along the right side of a large field, before heading into the woods. The trail is impeccably maintained, with a few informational signs along the way. The trail reaches the river, where the dogs had a chance to cool off before completing the rest of the loop.

This trip was a combination paved bike path and wooded trail. We hiked the wooded trail to get to the duck pond. There is a paved trail that leads to the duck pond as well. The duck pond had no ducks, and it wasn't really much of a pond either. Rhode Island is going through a severe drought right now, and water levels are low throughout the area. Both the bike trail and wooded trail were pretty standard fare. They weren't all that interesting.

This is a cool hike to the corner of where three states intersect. We start from the Air-Line trail, and then hike up a pretty steep hill. We arrive at the peak and there is a marker to indicate the borders of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I know it's really silly, but I kept posing the dogs so that one of them would be standing in one state, and the other one would be in another state, until I got every combination.

This is exactly the type of place I think of when I envision a state park. There's a pond with a swimming area, plenty of picnic spots, cabin-type structures, large pines trees, and of course hiking trails. We hiked a mile and a half loop that circles Peck Pond. We started counter-clockwise, and made our way around the pond. A short section toward the end of the loop veers into the Connecticut towns of Putnam and Thompson. Upon completing the loop, we met Lucy, who lost her engagement ring while swimming at the beach area. (Lucy in the sky without her diamond....sorry, I couldn't resist!) Anyway, she asked me to mention it here, in case anyone reads this and finds her ring. If so, feel free to contact me via the email link on the home page, and I can provide her contact information. It's a long shot, but I told her I'd post it here. I hope she is able to recover her ring!
